Hi there, I’m İpek (Pronounced as E-Pek). I’m a wife to a wonderful husband and a mom to two amazing children. What began as a passion to learn and create lasting memories of my kids exploded into my business – Melodi Photography. I strive to capture a baby/child’s spirit and a family’s personality. My clients can find themselves giggling, tickling and jumping during my sessions. And in my newborn sessions, I LOVE using timeless props.

I was born and raised in Turkey and I’ve been living in the U.S since 2007.
If I’m not chasing out sunsets, I’m most definitely chasing my kids.
I have a Master’s degree in Education (that I earned from the University of Oklahoma)
My Heart
By the way, you may be wondering why my business name is called Melodi Photography. It’s because of my daughter whose name is Melodi. Her big blue/gray eyes have always fueled my inspiration in photography.

The Studio
Melodi Photography home-studio is where I create the newborn, baby and child photographs. The studio is stocked with backdrops, wraps, hats, bonnets, headbands, rompers and baskets for the beautiful newborns, babies and kids.

I’ve been photographing this crew since their middle child was still in her mama’s tummy… and now here we are, chasing three beautiful kids along the beach, laughing, getting sandy, and making new memories together.
Sessions like this feel more like catching up with old friends than work. I know their rhythm, the kids know me, and everything just flows so naturally. ❤️
And honestly… the beach was the perfect choice for them. So much space to run, play, and just be themselves — which is exactly where the magic happens ✨

Not to be dramatic but… being a photographer is 10 jobs in one.
I’m the one hyping you up during your session,
the one chasing golden light and toddler smiles,
then going home to hours of editing while the house is finally quiet.
I’m also the scheduler, the marketer, the bookkeeper, the late-night email responder… a full-on solopreneur building something from the ground up.
It’s long days, full memory cards, and never really “clocking out” —
but it’s also storytelling, connection, and creating something that lasts longer than all of us.
And somehow… I wouldn’t trade it for anything 🤍

Bring the essentials
Extra diapers, wipes, a pacifier, and a favorite blanket always help
Relax… your baby can feel your energy
If you’re calm, they’re more likely to be calm too

Maybe because every time I travel, it brings me back to where my story began. I grew up in Türkiye, and now I’m raising my family in a different part of the world… somewhere between two cultures, two homes.
Travel feels different when you live like this—new places, but familiar feelings.
And through it all, I see everything through my lens. Photography is how I hold onto those in-between moments… the ones that feel like pieces of both past and present.
I can hardly wait for summer so I can travel across the ocean again to visit both my hometown and some new countries☀️
