Last fall I went to San Clemente with my family to be photographed by this pretty lady . Munopia Portraits photographed my family climbing up the pretty hills, watching the waves of the ocean at sunset time, and dancing with the kids at the beach. It was truly magical. And this time it was my turn to photograph her with her loved ones. She came to Bakersfield all the way from Orange County for the almond blooms, and we had an amazing session. California is so beautiful and inspiring no matter where you go. I can’t express how much I appreciate having the opportunity to experience it and getting to know some amazing people – like Munopia Portraits – along the way.

Maybe because every time I travel, it brings me back to where my story began. I grew up in Türkiye, and now I’m raising my family in a different part of the world… somewhere between two cultures, two homes.

Travel feels different when you live like this—new places, but familiar feelings.

And through it all, I see everything through my lens. Photography is how I hold onto those in-between moments… the ones that feel like pieces of both past and present.

I can hardly wait for summer so I can travel across the ocean again to visit both my hometown and some new countries☀️
