H Family – Fall Family Session | Bakersfield Family Photographer

When Jami contacted me about their family session, she had some great/original/unique ideas in her mind. She wanted to take some photos at the oil fields of Bakersfield. They were new in Bakersfield and wanted to have some photos that are special to this oil town.. I got so excited because I had never done such a session before. I love it when my clients bring their own vision to their session. This cute family was definitely one of a kind with lots of personality. The props they brought, the ideas they have.. I really enjoyed turning their session ideas into reality. I wish I was able to share some of the oil pump photos, but I will have to keep them to myself because they requested them to be private, and I totally respect that. The photos below are from our second destination. Aren’t they just so cute?

When I first started photography, I thought I needed more.😊More props.
More setups.
More decorations.
More everything.Over time, I realized that the images I kept coming back to were always the simplest ones. The photo of a newborn peacefully sleeping.
A mother holding her baby.
A family laughing together.
A child showing their personality without distractions.I found myself removing things instead of adding them. What started as a style choice eventually became a reflection of how I see people. I don’t want the background, props, or trends to be the star of the image. I want you to be.That’s how my photography evolved into a cleaner, brighter, more organic style. Not because it’s trendy.
Not because it’s popular.Because years from now, I want you to look at your photos and see your connection, your love, your little one’s tiny features—not the props that were popular at the time.Simple doesn’t mean less meaningful. For me, simple makes room for what matters most. ❤️#BakersfieldPhotographer #MelodiPhotography#CreativeBusiness#SmallBusinessOwner
