It’s hard to relax and be yourself when there is a camera in your face. Especially if you are meeting the photographer for the first time and you have limited time with her. You want the best moments captured, for sure. When capturing the families, I try to step back and allow the family interact with each other rather than with me. It always brings out the true emotions of the family. Encouraging them to ‘snuggle up’, hug and kiss each other gives me some really wonderful moments to capture. And to me the whole purpose in family photography is to catch that family connection.
Yesterday, I really enjoyed taking the family portraits of this cute family. As a 1 year old, little Ariana was on the go all the time, walking and exploring. And that was really cute. Her big brother gave her lots of love and kisses during the session, which made my heart melt. I feel so lucky to do this job and meet such wonderful families.
