Hello! Bringing a newborn baby into the world is a special and precious moment. Capturing those early days with professional newborn photography can help preserve those memories for a lifetime. If you book a newborn photo session with Melodi Photography, here’s what you can expect:

Planning and Preparation

Before the session, you will typically have a consultation with me via phone, in person and/or email. This is the time to discuss your vision, preferences, and any specific ideas you might have. I will guide you on what to bring and how to prepare for the session.

Time and Location

Newborn photo sessions are usually scheduled within the first two-three weeks after birth when babies are sleepier and more flexible. The session will take place in my comfortable and safe home-studio, which is located in SW Bakersfield.

Patience and Flexibility

Newborn sessions can be time-consuming as babies have their own schedule and needs. It’s important to be patient and allow time for feeding, changing, and soothing your baby during the session. I will work at your baby’s pace and ensure her/his comfort throughout the process.

Props and Setups

During the session, I’ll use various props, wraps, and backdrops to create beautiful and artistic images. I will have a selection of props available, but you are welcome to bring any special items that you would like to incorporate into the photos.

Poses and Safety

I’m skilled in posing babies safely and comfortably. I will handle your baby with care and always prioritize her/his well-being. Some popular poses include the curly poses and cozy wrapped poses.

Capturing the Details

Newborn sessions focus on capturing the tiny details that make your baby unique. From their tiny fingers and toes to their delicate eyelashes, I will capture these precious moments in stunning detail.

Embracing the Candid Moments

In addition to posed shots, newborn sessions often include family portraits. These photos capture the natural interactions between parents and their newborn, showcasing the love and joy they share.

Professional Editing and Delivery

After the session, I will carefully select and edit the best images from the session. I will enhance the photos, adjust lighting and colors, and create a cohesive look. Once the editing process is complete, you will receive the final images either digitally or in print, depending on your package.
